Meet Us in Mexico!
We are so excited that you’re able to join us for our wedding celebration at Hotel Escondido. We’ll be hosting lots of fun activities throughout the weekend.
Here’s what you need to know:
What to Wear
For Saturday's wedding celebration, we're asking all guests to wear light colors, white is encouraged! In case it's helpful, we’ve put together an outfit inspiration board.
Location
💃🏽 You will need an airplane ticket and your passport. A friendly reminder that even babies need passports!
✈️ The closest airport is PXM (Puerto Escondido, Mexico) and will likely involve a layover in MEX (Mexico City) or GDL (Guadalajara).
** Please note: OAX (Oaxaca City) also has an airport, but is a 6 hour drive from where the wedding will take place!
💸 For more flexibility, consider piecemealing your travel. Volaris & Viva both offer daily flights from Mexico City to PXM.
🚌 Taxis are easily available outside of the quaint airport. In this small town, everyone knows where Hotel Escondido is located, so ground transportation should be carefree. (Send us a note if you’d like additional help coordinating.) Or you're welcome to rent a car from the PXM airport if you prefer to have that flexibility.
🏡 A few hotel options in the area are Hotel Terrestre and Punta Pájaros. There are also multiple AirBnBs within walking distance of the venue.
Honeymoon Fund
Our honeymoon will take place a few weeks after the wedding in New Zealand + Southeast Asia + Japan! We love a good adventure and look forward to embracing the unknown.
But, we have a few ideas in mind …
🚐 Van camping in New Zealand
🛵 Motorbiking in Northern Vietnam
🌊 Surfing in Japan (surf gods, be good to us!)
If you’re so inclined, you may contribute to our honeymoon fund via PayPal (ashleighpapp@gmail.com) or Venmo (@apapp). Please know that your presence at our wedding celebration in Mexico is a present enough, we can’t wait to see you in Oaxaca!
Healthy & Safety
This is a remote part of Mexico, which we love! For us, it means sandy beaches, unadulterated mountains at your back, and clear night skies filled with shooting stars. Despite the remoteness, health services are not far — the nearest town, Puerto Escondido, has a 24/7 hospital equipped to handle most emergencies.
The venue and accommodations are located in a gated community and we'll likely have the beaches to ourselves. Local officials and neighborhood security are also nearby.
